SiteHale vs an SEO Plugin + a Site Audit Tool

A common WordPress setup is two subscriptions: an SEO plugin like All in One SEO for titles, sitemaps and schema, and a crawler like Ahrefs Site Audit to find what’s broken. Both are good tools. Both leave the work to you. SiteHale Care ($49/mo) handles your SEO tags, audits your whole site from the outside every month, and does the SEO work on top — reported in plain language, not a dashboard you have to learn.

What the Two-Tool Setup Costs

List prices, checked on each company’s own pricing page in September 2026.

ToolPricePer month
All in One SEO Pro (renewal, 10 sites)$399/yr≈ $33
Ahrefs Lite (includes Site Audit)$129/mo$129
Two-tool total≈ $162
SiteHale Care$49/mo or $490/yr$49

AIOSEO’s first year is discounted; the renewal rate is what you pay from year two. Ahrefs is cheaper billed annually. A one-site AIOSEO Basic licence renews at $99/yr — the two-tool total is still about $137/mo.

Where They Beat Us

Every SiteHale comparison says this part out loud.

  • Research. Ahrefs’ backlink index, keyword research and competitor data are among the best available. SiteHale doesn’t try to replace them. If you research markets for a living, keep Ahrefs.
  • Audit depth. Ahrefs Site Audit runs far more checks and can render JavaScript. Ours is deliberately focused on the problems that cost a small business rankings and visitors.
  • A free option. Ahrefs offers a free tier for sites you own, with a limited Site Audit. If one occasional crawl is all you need, that may be enough — you just have to read it and act on it yourself.
  • Hands-on control. AIOSEO puts every SEO setting in front of you, with a content score and a built-in redirect manager. SiteHale does the work for you instead — and deliberately doesn’t grade your writing with a score.

Common Questions

Can SiteHale replace All in One SEO?

Yes, for the SEO tags a site actually serves: titles, meta descriptions, social sharing tags, schema and sitemaps. SiteHale imports your existing AIOSEO settings first, so nothing you wrote is lost, and switching back is as simple as reactivating AIOSEO. What it doesn’t replicate is AIOSEO’s content score and built-in redirect manager — SiteHale uses the free Redirection plugin for redirects.

Can SiteHale replace Ahrefs?

It replaces the part most small-business sites pay for Ahrefs to do: auditing your own site. Every month SiteHale crawls your whole site the way a search engine does and reports what’s new, what was resolved and what’s still open. It doesn’t replace Ahrefs’ backlink, keyword-research or competitor tools — if you use those, keep Ahrefs.

What does the monthly site audit check?

Links to pages that no longer exist, missing images and files, pages in your sitemap that tell Google not to index them, pages pointing Google at the wrong main copy, images loaded without HTTPS, pages missing a main heading or search description, and duplicate titles. Every “broken” result is re-checked live before it’s reported, so a momentary hiccup doesn’t show up as a problem.

Will the audit crawler be blocked by my security settings?

Sometimes — some hosts and Cloudflare’s bot protection block crawlers by default. We check this during onboarding, and if your site blocks it we tell you exactly which setting to add. We never switch off your site’s protection to get in.
