The SiteHale companion plugin

The optional SiteHale plugin is fully inert until you click Connect inside your own WordPress admin. Nothing is transmitted before that. When you connect:

A one-time snapshot of your site’s environment — WordPress, PHP, and database versions, active theme, plugin list, and permalink settings — is sent to SiteHale so the service can be configured for your site. No page content and no visitor data are collected in this snapshot.
Connection uses WordPress core’s own Application Passwords authorization flow. You approve access on WordPress’s native consent screen; core mints the credential under your account.

After connection, SiteHale’s servers call your site’s read-only diagnostic and reporting endpoints using the Application Password you approved. Disconnecting — or revoking the Application Password under Users → Profile — fully stops all access and transmission.

Information we process to run the service

Site data — SEO metadata, content structure, published pages/posts, and analytics your site exposes (e.g. Google Search Console clicks/impressions) that we read to perform optimizations and produce your reports.
Credentials — the Application Password (and, where applicable, SSH access you provide) needed to manage your site. These are stored encrypted and used only to deliver the service.
Account & billing — your name, email, and payment details, processed by our payment provider. We do not store full card numbers.
Support — messages and site details you send us when requesting help.

How we use it

Solely to deliver, maintain, monitor, and improve the SiteHale service for your site, to communicate with you, and to bill you. We do not sell your data. We do not use your site content to train third-party AI models beyond the automated SEO tasks you engage us to run on your behalf.

Third-party services

We rely on reputable providers to operate the service, which may process data on our behalf — for example Google Search Console (analytics), Cloudflare (delivery/security), our hosting and backup infrastructure, our email provider, and our payment processor. Each is used only as needed to run the service.

Data retention & security

We retain data for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service, then delete or anonymize it within a reasonable period. Backups are encrypted. Access is limited to the personnel who operate the service.

Your choices

You can disconnect the plugin, revoke the Application Password, or ask us to delete your account data at any time by emailing [email protected].
